Family Involvement at St. Stephens Indian School

We believe strong schools begin with strong partnerships. Educational research consistently shows that students with active family involvement perform better in school. Your involvement makes a difference, whether your student is just starting school or preparing for graduation.

Why Family Involvement Matters

Students with involved families tend to have higher attendance, improved academic performance, and stronger social skills. At St. Stephens Indian School, we value this support at every grade level— from early elementary through high school.

Ways to Get Involved

There are many ways to participate in school life. Families can:

  • Keep contact information current with the school office.
  • Chaperone field trips and school events.
  • Attend parent-teacher conferences.
  • Volunteer in classrooms. (Volunteers may need to complete a background check.)
  • Join the St. Stephens Indian School Parent Advisory Group.
  • Support extracurricular programs and student-led activities.

Join the Parent-Teacher Organization

The Parent-Teacher Organization is open to all parents and guardians in the district. It supports teachers, organizes events, and strengthens our school community. The PTO also provides a platform to share ideas and stay informed.

PTO meetings and events are open to all families. Everyone is welcome to participate.

Let’s Work Together

When families stay involved, students feel supported and motivated. Whether volunteering, attending a meeting or helping at an event, your participation makes a difference.

We encourage you to contact us and learn more about how to get involved. To discuss questions or ideas, please schedule an appointment with a teacher, counselor, or administrator. We look forward to working together to ensure the success of every student at St. Stephens Indian School.
